Kunimare Sake Brewery最北の酒蔵 国稀酒造株式会社

Sake Brewery

Founded in 1882, this brewery is the northern most sake brewery in Japan. During its first 20 years of operation, the brewery was located in the old main store, Kyu-shoka-Maruichihonmake, which is now a designated Important Cultural Property. The existing brewery was built in 1902 and is open for tours. Kunimare of representative brand of sake bearing the brewery name is highly recommended. It is a full-bodied yet dry and mellow sake with a subdued bitterness. The special junmaishu Kunimare that brings out the essence of the rice while preserving a refreshingly clean taste is one of their proud masterpieces. Over 10 types of sake from the brewery are offered for tasting, and you can enjoy the thrill of discovering your favorite brew.

          Hokkaido Main Areas

Not just a prefecture but an island of its own, Hokkaido is the most northerly prefecture and island of the Japanese archipelago. Arriving in Hokkaido, which is rural and bursting with breathtaking nature, means entering a world where vast national parks, towering mountains, and natural hot springs can be found at every turn. Come December, these natural splendors freeze over and morph into a winter wonderland.
