Kafuka Seafood Restaurant
Kafuka is a seafood restaurant directly operated by the Kafuka Fishermen’s Cooperative in Rebun Town, Rebun County, Hokkaido. The restaurant serves food using mainly fresh seafood caught in the waters of Kafuka on Rebun Island. The seafood rice bowls and grilled seafood are especially well liked. Among them, the ezo-bafun uni (short-spined sea urchin) raised in Rebun is fed high quality Rishiri kelp and tastes exquisite. Many people come here from far away, looking for sea urchin rice bowls and live sea urchin which can only be had from May to September. The grilled Okhotsk atka mackerel topped with miso is also a very popular and well-known dish.
