This memorial house, adjacent to Takubokusho Park, has a large number of documents and artifacts on display about the life of Toshizo Hizikata, a patriot from the end of the Edo period. Inside the memorial house, the old sword made by Izuminokami Kanesada (more commonly known as Nosada), and the revolver handgun are must-see items. There are also displays about other loyalists from that time besides Hizikata, and you’ll also find some original goods on sale too.

函館空港と市街を結ぶ幹線道路「漁火通り」沿いにあります。海のすぐそばです。函館にゆかりの深い土方歳三と石川啄木に関するテーマパークで、幕末の歴史に関心の深い人には、特に興味深い施設だと思います。建物のすぐ隣が「啄木小公園」になっており、啄木の座像や歌碑などがあります。
こじんまりとした記念館でした

土方歳三と石川啄木、ともに函館に関係するものの「二人の関係は？」と思わずにはいられない記念館でした。一階は土方歳三と幕末に関する資料が、また二階は学校形式の石川啄木に関する資料がそれぞれ陳列されており、こじんまりとした記念館でしたが興味深いものがありました。それとともに、浪漫館のある啄木小公園から見る津軽海峡が綺麗でした。

タクシーの運転手さん勧められていきました。小さな施設ですが、予想以外に史料が充実していて楽しめました。土方の時代にまつわる道具類や武器類（火縄・刀）も多く、二階では啄木の人形による、授業も楽しめます。外の公園の銅像よりははるかに興味をそそられました。必見です。
