Orchard Grass
A café and restaurant built inside the now unmanned train station of Kawayu Onsen in 1936. What was once offices and the station master's office is now a relaxing, retro restaurant. The station master's office with its beautiful stained glass was once where Emperor Showa had a break. The slowly stewed, mouth watering beef stew is particularly well known, drawing guests far and wide to try it.

- Very nice station cafe
- A small station cafe, we had a long wait for the train at Kawayuonsen station and decided to try it. The service was very good, the menu is small but the food was tasty. Worth a visit.
