Restaurant Memere
"The name of this cafe-restaurant means ""grandmother"" in French. It was established in keeping with the will of Yoshie Sasaki, the second proprietress of ""Grandmother Marukoma"", which forms the cornerstone of Marukoma Onsen, in the Lake Shikotsu Onsen Shopping Street. The shop is divided into two areas, a space where customers can enjoy a relaxed meal, and a buffet space where they can enjoy a more open atmosphere with light food and drinks. Both of these spaces are said to embody the heart of hospitality that the proprietress valued. The Chinese-style tofu and fried jako salad appetizer is the perfect snack to go with the local beer."
