"A historic site located in Azuma, Kiso Town, Kiso County, Nagano Prefecture. In the Edo period, a Shirakiaratame Bansho was a guardhouse which was established for the purpose of regulating the shipment of wood, managing the movement of hinoki cypress and the other four of the so-called ""five Kiso trees"" the felling of which was prohibited."
