Sekisho (Checkpoint) Museum
"This museum is located in a corner of Roadside Station Ikarigaseki Tsugaru-Sekinosho, approximately two kilometers from the Ikarigaseki Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. There are exhibits of weapons and old documents from feudal times, along with a guardhouse from a checkpoint relocated from near Akita Prefecture where it had been restored. The inspections at the Ikarigaseki checkpoint were so tough that records remain saying that ""in strictness even the checkpoint at Hakone does not match it."" The museum houses recreations of period scenes using figures and tickets from the time period, allowing visitors to learn about the history and background of the era."
