Arayayama Shrine Okumiya
A 40-minute drive from the Kawaguchiko Interchange and the Fujiyoshida Interchange. This Shinto shrine is located at Mt. Fuji's second station, commonly known as Heda no Tsuji. Frequently featured in the media in recent years, the shrine is believed to grant worshippers improved luck with money and business prosperity. The shrine is primarily dedicated to Oyamatsumi-no-Kami, a god of both mountains and sea, and the rear shrine is built on a site once used as a rest area by those who engaged in maintenance work on the mountain. The current shrine was newly built in 2011. A festival for the rear shrine is held in the morning of October 16. Note that in most years the shrine is closed to visitors from late November to the end of April because the path to the shrine is closed during this time.
