Kusashio Onsen
A 50-minute, 30-kilometer drive from the Masuho Interchange on the Chubu-Odan Expressway via National Route 52 and Prefectural Route 37. This day-use hot spring stands in the Kusashio district amidst the mountains on the left side of the Hayakawa Valley. Locals love its public bath-style atmosphere, and its men's and women's bathing areas have two tubs filled with waters set at different temperatures. The clear waters of the bathhouse' sodium bicarbonate-containing mildly saline spring are said to treat such ailments as rheumatism, movement disorders, burns, and women's diseases. The bathhouse' restaurant, Rakuyo, serves reasonably-priced meals and is open to non-bathers as well. In addition, the bathhouse sells local specialty products.
