Zenporitsu-ji Temple

This temple is connected to Yoshiko, the birth mother of the third Ashikaga shogun Yoshimitsu. It began in 1257 when a clerk for Iwashimizu Hachimangu, Zenpoji Miyakiyo, donated his own home to serve as priest's quarters. The main temple, built with materials from the former shrine building at Iwashimizu Hachimangu, and the Kouraimon front gate are registered Kyoto Prefecture cultural assets. Yoshimitsu's mother Yoshiko donated a number of maple trees, earning this temple the nickname Momiji-dera (maple leaf temple). There are still several hundred maple trees here, and the fresh green of spring and red leaves of fall make it a sightseeing spot in both seasons.

自然の紅葉を愛でたい人へのおすすめもみじ寺。

京都の有名仏閣の混雑を避けて、紅葉を魅入るもみじ寺はこころに染み入る紅で身体を包んでくれる。観光用でない自然そのままの紅葉は他府県の方々にもぜひおすすめします。
モミジの穴場

こじんまりとしたお寺で、ものの５分もあれば見終わってしまいますが、モミジが見事です。１１／２８に訪れた時にはもう終盤でしたが、参道の散紅葉がとても見事でした。タイミングがあえば素晴らしい紅葉になっていると思います。拝観料を取られることもなく、境内自由なので立ち寄る価値大です。
律宗の寺院

善法律寺（ぜんぽうりつじ）は律宗の寺院ですので、奈良の唐招提寺の末寺です。足利義満の母は善法律寺へ紅葉の樹をたくさん寄進したため、別名「紅葉寺」と呼ばれています。
