Koseki Family Samurai Residence

A historic building in Nishimasuoka Town, Shiroishi City. It is the former residence of the Koseki family, retainers to the Katakura family who ruled in Shiroishi Castle, and historical documents confirm that the building was constructed in 1730. After it was donated to the city it underwent full repairs and has been designated a Prefectural Cultural Property.

宮城県白石市にある旧小関家（武家屋敷）です。この場所は、映画『ラストレター』ロケ地で、裕里（森七菜）が自転車で通りかかった姉・未咲（広瀬すず）を鏡史郎（#神木隆之介）に紹介するシーンで使われました。宮城県指定文化財です。

人々が生活している中にあるのですが、流れている透明に透き通った水の川、や小径。ここが本当に令和の現代なのか？と思うほど、静かで趣のある風景。屋敷もすごく良かったです。生活様式が覗けて、お庭も素敵でした。無料駐車場もありがたいです。

白石城から歩いて行った。白石城の北、三の丸外堀にあたる沢端川に面した後小路（うしろこうじ）という閑静な住宅地区にある。屋敷の前を小川が流れ、小橋を渡って門をくぐると鬱蒼たる庭樹の中に茅葺き屋根の屋敷が佇む。旧小関家は中級武士の屋敷というが、広い土間はあるものの、居室は茶の間（板の間）となかまと呼ばれる畳の間と納戸（板の間）だけ。思いの外、簡素な間取りだ。当時の質素な武士の生活が偲ばれる。この武家...
