Michinoku Folklore Village
This open-air museum is located in Tachibana, Kitakami City. Besides a number of kominka (old houses) owned by farmers and samurai in the surrounding area that have been relocated and restored, there is a folk museum that uses the former Kurosawajiri Girls High School, hands-on workshops and teahouse. The Michinoku Folklore Village Festival is held every October, and various events such as folk performing arts performances are held.
