Taro Shiosato Station

Tourism Information Office
This tourist information center adjoining Roadside Station Taro along National Route 45 is located an approximately five-minute drive from the Sanriku Coastal Road’s Taro Masaki Kaigan Interchange. Originally a facility located at Taro (train) Station as a tourist information center, it was relocated to this area after being completely destroyed by the tsunami from the Great East Japan Earthquake. It is also the base for earthquake and disaster prevention learning in the Taro district, and besides being the reception area for a guide to learn about disaster prevention held by the Miyako Tourism Cultural Exchange Association and screening tsunami and disaster prevention related videos, it also displays a model that shows the cityscape of the Taro district before the disaster.

    道の駅たろうの中核となる観光案内所。となりのトイレと産直と別胸だが繋がっているので、冬季の建物間の移動が快適。トイレ前の休憩所がなかなか快適。
