This museum is located in Unomachi 3-Chome, Uwa-cho, Seiyo City. It possesses a collection of around 6,000 mingu dating from the late Edo period to the early Showa period. Mingu refers to everyday items that have come to be seen as folk art. In addition to a permanent exhibit, the museum also holds special exhibits on themes such as the town’s folk culture. It also features hands-on exhibits that allow visitors to touch the culture of yesteryear including an area where visitors can take pictures while wearing old clothing.

江戸時代に繫栄した卯之町、そんな時代のジオラマを見ることが出来ます。地元の文化、歴史を学ぶにはとても良かったと思います。
様々な民具があり、特にカメラの展示はいい。

当時使用されていた民具を展示してあり、触れてはいけないものの当時の生活の様子を知る機会となった。とくに古いカメラがありはじめてみたが、とても雰囲気があり、カメラ好きにはたまらないのではないかと思った。
開明学校と共通入館できます

卯之町に残る代表的な建物、開明学校の向かいにあります。入館料は、開明学校と共通で500円。江戸時代末期から昭和にかけての、実際に卯之町で使用されていた民具が展示されています。1月から4月までは、ひなまつりの季節展示がされていました。
