Kamaike Pond
"A mysterious pond surrounded by beech trees at an elevation of 1,190 meters. Its name comes from its shape that resembles a ""kama,"" or sickle used to cut grass. The pond is popular with photographers for the young leaves of spring and the fall foliage. It has earned its reputation for amazing scenery. The beauty of the clear sky, grand mountains, and colorful leaves reflected in the pond is breathtaking. There is a two-kilometer trail around the pond. With its quiet atmosphere, it's also one of the main courses in the area for ""forest therapy."" Nestled beside the pond, Kamaike Bunarin-tei has pickled vegetables, specialty items, and more. If your timing's right, you can also try some of their cuisine made with mushrooms."
