Suyama Sengen Shrine
This shrine is in Suyama, Sodeno City. Said to date as far back as the Japanese mythological period, the exact date of the founding of this shrine cannot be established. However the current sanctum was rebuilt in 1823. Situated at the Suyama trail head to Mt. Fuji, climbers from long ago have prayed for safety here. This shrine is a composite part of the UNESCO World Heritage site that is Fujisan, a Sacred Place and Source of Artistic Inspiration.
