Sekizaki Lighthouse

Lighthouse
This lighthouse is located in Saganoseki, Oita City. Built in 1901, it is the oldest lighthouse in the prefecture. It offers sweeping views of the waters off the tip of the Saganoseki Peninsula, which are known for the high-quality mackerel and horse mackerel caught in them. The lighthouse is also adjacent to the Sekizaki Kaiseikan (Ocean and Astronomical Observatory Hall), which features an observation deck and an astronomical observatory that are open to the public.
