"This Japanese restaurant is where you can enjoy fried foods, sushi, multi-course meals, as well as the Isahaya specialty ""Rakuyaki unagi"" (grilled and steamed eel). It offers year-round seasonal tastes of Isahaya blessed with seafood and mountain vegetables. Isahaya grilled eel is characterized by being steamed in a double-bottomed rakuyaki ware vessel after being grilled, and you can enjoy its enchanting plumpness. Their ""una-zen"" (eel rice dish) served in the same earthenware is highly recommended. Their pressed sushi ""Isahaya sushi,"" which is a combination of sushi rice with shiitake mushrooms, dried gourd and other ingredients topped with grilled eel, is the best choice for a souvenir that cannot be tasted anywhere else."

柔らかい鰻

蒸したような柔らかい鰻の店。鰻だけではなく、米どころの諫早だけあり、ご飯も非常に美味い。一杯が数なめなのでおかわりすると、漬け物も付いてきた。

年末小浜温泉から福岡への帰り、諫早はウナギが有名とのことで立ち寄りました。店内は大きく、奥の座敷に案内され折角なのでうな善梅をいただきました。調理場にはおせちがいっぱい並べられ、これから地元の人たちが取りに来るのだろうと眺めながらの美味しいウナギを満喫しました。

近年の鰻の値段の高騰で、看板メニューの鰻定食が値上がりしてしまいましたが、他のメニューも含め、味はいいです。どれを注文しても失敗はないと思います。
