Ako Folk Culture Museum
This museum located in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture exhibits folklore materials from Ako City. The building is a valuable Western-style building from the Meiji period (1868-1912), which used to be the building for the Ministry of Finance's Salt Bureau, and has been designated as an important tangible cultural property of Hyogo Prefecture. Inside, you can see everyday items and farming tools used in the Edo (1603-1868) and Meiji periods (1868-1912), as well as craftsman tools for carpentry, armor and blacksmithing. It also exhibits textbooks from the time donated by residents of Ako City, wartime documents, and electrical appliances from during the post-war recovery, and introduces life during those eras.
