Lake Okuyahagi
Lake Okuyahagi is a 40-minute drive from the Nagoya Interchange and 50 minutes from the Ena and Mizunami Interchanges. It is the second largest artificial lake in the prefecture after Lake Sakuma, and the Yahagi Dam is at the northwest part of the lake. The lake is V-shaped, stretching from east to west. The left bank is in the city of Toyota in Aichi Prefecture, and the east bank is in the city of Ena in Gifu Prefecture. Its capacity is equivalent to 52 Nagoya Domes. In 1969, more than 1,000 cherry trees were planted around the lake, and they bloom every spring. In the fall, visitors are treated to a mystical scene enveloped in fog. Both seasons attract large numbers of visitors.
