Juban Inari-jinja Shrine

Shrine
A Shinto shrine located near Azabu-Juban Station. Connected with the legend of Gama Pond and locally known as the Treasure Ship Shrine, a statue of a treasure ship being ridding by the Seven Gods of Fortune can be found on the left side of the shrine's torii gate, while a statue of a frog stands on the right. The treasure ship statue is considered very lucky and all seven gods are depicted in great detail. The frog statue is called Kaeru-san (Mr. Frog) by local people-because kaeru can also mean to come back or to return, it is believed that the frog can bring back happiness and property to people who have lost these things, as well as aid in making a safe return home, and many people visit the shrine to pray for a safe trip or for the health of someone sick.
