Maekawa
A venerable eel restaurant founded in the Edo period boasting some 200 years of history. The shop’s Kabayaki (broiled eel with sauce), soaked in a secret sauce passed down for generations, is tender down to the bones. Meanwhile, the shop’s shirayaki (unseasoned broiled eel) allows the true flavor of the meat to shine through. Overlooking the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree, during the day diners can enjoy the downtown hustle and bustle and in the evening a lovely nightscape.

- Subpar service even for Japanese standards.
