Highway Station Akamakan
"A tourist information center located in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Notable for its architecture, the center is housed in an old-fashioned row house building constructed in a narrow and long style called ""unagi no nedoko"" (""eel bed""). The center provides sightseeing information and also has a cafe corner and souvenir and gift shop. In addition, an exhibition room contains exhibits on the local post-town area called Akama-juku on the Karatsu Highway during the closing days of the Edo period as well as the Meiji period. There's also a Japanese style room where food is served."
