Goshonoyu
This historic hot spring’s name means “the Imperial Hot Waters” and is derived from the Masukagami, a historic tale written in 1267 during the Nanboku-cho period, which notes that Emperor Go-Horikawa’s older sister, Princess Kuniko, bathed here. The hot spring facilities were rebuilt and moved to the current building, reminiscent of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, in 2005. The Yumepa bath ticket allows purchasers to visit bathe as much as they like at seven different hot spring facilities, including Goshonoyu, whose waters have beautifying properties. The airy Sky Bath, with its high ceilings an indoor and outdoor portion, is particularly popular.
