Located at the top of Mt. Mitake in Ome City, this facility at the entrance to the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park offers visitors information about trails in the vicinity of Mt. Mitake as well as its nature. The center conducts guided walks (open-air explanations) as well as explanations via slide shows, and also features a classroom for making crafts. The center can also support groups such as for field trips or activities to experience nature.

昨年11月御岳山に紅葉を見に行きました。ケーブルカーで往復し、山頂まで行く途中に立ち寄り、ここで休憩しました。

御嶽神社に行く途中にあります。山や温泉などいろいろなパンフレットや地図が置いてあり、道順やおすすめコースをセンターの方に聞いて丁寧に教えてもらっている人がいました。きれいなトイレもあるのでトイレ休憩にもいいと思いました。

正直、トイレ利用で立ち寄りました。男性用でも大用が2つありました。ヨーロッパに行くと、レストランや有料の観光施設ですらトイレ利用は有料のところが多いので、日本のどこでも無料なことのすごさに改めて感心させられます。2階に行くと、ムササビの人形を動かせる装置がありました。簡単な作りですが、小さな子供なら喜ぶと思いますので、立ち寄ればよいと思います。
