This is a store in Asakusa that specializes in tenugui (a thin Japanese hand towel made of cotton) made with a traditional technique called “chusen-zome,” which consists of dyeing by pouring the color on the fabric and putting a special glue on areas not to be dyed. It is very popular in Asakusa for souvenirs, with its various tenugui dyed in the designs of lucky elements such as red sea bream, the Seven Deities and other designs of all seasons.
