Hachijoji Temple

Temple
This Buddhist temple is located in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. It's the main administrative temple of Awaji Island's Seven Lucky Gods pilgrimage. Tradition says it was founded in the late 1300s or early 1400s. It enshrines Daikokuten and holds the Hatsudaikokuten Kigan Festival and the Hatsudaikokuten Shofuku Festival on January 26, the first day of the lunar year. It is also the 47th stop on the Awaji Flower Pilgrimage, and in the spring the grounds burst into bloom with peach, Indian coral tree, and Nikko maple blossoms. Worshiping there is thought to bring benefits including economic prosperity, career advancement, domestic safety, and the prosperity of descendants.
