Ryokan Tanigawa
Hot Spring / Hot Spring Bath
This hot spring inn is located 10 minutes by car from Minakami Interchange. One of the charms of the inn is that it is located at the foot of Mt. Tanigawa, and each season has its own unique beauty, such as the remaining snow on the mountain contrasted with the cherry blossoms, green leaves and autumn leaves. There is the simple alkaline hot spring, which has continued to rise since the Edo Period, and dishes made with Gunma’s seasonal ingredients and local vegetables, served with warm hospitality. It is also famous as the inn associated with Osamu Dazai, and contains a miniature Osamu Dazai gallery. Visitors can view a reproduction of the Japanese-style room Dazai stayed in, along with hot spring tickets that he actually used, as well as books and photo albums and other valuable materials.
