This is a well-established Kamakura western-style sweets shop that is located just across the rotary at Kamakura Station’s east exit. The inside of the shop is full of delicately prepared sweets made from carefully selected ingredients. Their “Kamakura Custar,” a standard popular souvenir in Kamakura, came about from the idea of combining the delicious tastes of a cream puff and a shortcake, and they take such care in producing the treats that they will adjust the amount of honey in the sponge cake depending on the season.

かまくらボーロは、あじさいをイメージした型で焼いているそうです。卵とバターの風味豊かな、懐かしいようなお味のお菓子です。

若いころ大好きだった鎌倉カスター。今回の鎌倉訪問のお土産として購入。店舗が新しくきれいになっていて驚きました。ちょうど雨が降りだした時で、店員さんが袋にビニールを掛けましょうかと、気遣ってくれた心遣いが嬉しかったです。なのに、自宅で食べたとき、自分の味覚が変わってしまったようで昔のようなおいしさを感じることができず残念でした。
