Stop by Mifujiya Cafe on your way to Shiraito Falls and you’ll get your get your blueberry fix with a kick. The mix berry affogato here is a mouthwatering concoction of soft cream, coffee and berries that can cool you down during a hot summer day and give you a nice energy boost for the walk down to the Shiraito Falls. Dig into this treat while taking in the view of the Shibakawa River from the café’s outdoor terrace.

At the Fujiyama Museum you can admire Mount Fuji on the walls then eat a cookie version of it at their lobby café. Two ice cream balls (matcha and anko flavoured) are sandwiched between sugary Fujisan-shaped cookies that will melt gracefully in your mouth. The ice cream sandwich comes in a set which includes matcha tea and is a great way to end a visit to this unique museum.

This luscious treat will take you on a little detour away from the Fuji Five Lakes area to Yamanashi City but it is worth the trip over the mountains.
