Food Mart Fukui from Fukui Prefecture specializes in the variety of delicious gourmets from Fukui, but of all, the sweets are highly recommended for a try. Usually eaten during the summer, the mizu-yokan, a chilled Japanese dessert made of red (or white) bean jelly, in Fukui, it is a custom to eat it in winter. A large flat box approximately the size of an A4 size is filled with mizu-yokan which melts in your mouth. The texture is firm so it is easily sliceable, and has just the right amount of sweetness.
