The Gotemba Outlet Becomes One of the Largest Shopping Malls in Japan

Opened at the base of Mount Fuji in 2000, the Gotemba Premium Outlets are a massive shopping center with all the exclusive brands known the world over. Since its opening, it’s greeted more than 170 million shoppers, and it’s the flagship location of the Premium Outlets in Japan. Features include over 200 shops, a generous assortment of dining and restaurants, and even a Ferris wheel.

The Hill Side area will add 88 shops to the Premium Outlets, with the focus being on luxury fashion brands. There will also be casual and family-oriented shopping, too. In addition to the 10 dining options in the new Food Area, the Itadaki Terrace combines 6 eateries in a lovely outdoor space with views of Mount Fuji. Families will love the new Playground, which features a merry-go-round and other attractions to keep the kids happy.

At only a 5-minute bus ride from the outlets, Hotel Clad has 182 rooms, with over half of them overlooking Mount Fuji. Konoha no Yu is the hot spring bathhouse located next-door to Hotel Clad. The hot spring offers both an indoor and outdoor bath for prime relaxation, and visitors will be thrilled by the gorgeous views of Mount Fuji. For those who like a little more privacy, the facility also has 19 private outdoor baths. All the facility’s hot spring water is natural, and the water is rich in sodium sulfates and bicarbonates.
