This is a guide to all of the major services, restaurants, and facilities in the Terminal 1 Building of Kansai International Airport. Whether you’re on your way to an international flight or jet-setting somewhere domestic, we’ve got the information you need for an excellent airport experience.

    1F: International Arrival Floor

    For international travelers just arriving in Japan, Terminal 1 has a wealth of useful services. Expect foreign language support, transfer tickets to buses, and a mobile phone center, just to name a few.

    Kansai Tourist Information Center

    In addition to sightseeing information, the Tourist Information Center has support for several languages, including English, Chinese, and Korean. You can also purchase SIM cards, bus tickets, and train passes right at the counter to streamline the transfer process. They can even help you book hotel reservations and special tours, too, so you can go to their window if you’ve had sudden changes to your travel plans. They’ll take care of you.

    Mobile Center

    Wi-Fi isn’t always a given in Japan. So if you plan on using your smartphone, then stopping by the Mobile Center isn’t a bad idea. They have rental Wi-Fi routers and prepaid SIM cards, plus some companies offer rental phones. You can make reservations online ahead of time, but there are also same-day rentals while supplies last.

    The Prepaid SIM Card Vending Machines are open 24 hours. Even if you book a red-eye ticket or experience delays, you can still find a place to get your phone working. They offer a variety of service periods and data limits to tailor the plan to your trip.

    Limousine Bus Information Counter

    Those traveling to other destinations when they touchdown will likely be looking for the limousine buses. These long-distance buses leave directly from the airport, and you can buy tickets with a credit card from the Limousine Bus Information Counter.

    If you want to pay cash, then head to the Limousine Bus Ticket Window in front of the Bus Stops just outside Terminal 1.

    High-Speed Ferry Ticket Counter

    If you’re on your way to Kobe Airport, then you’ll be riding the high-speed ferry there, which takes about 30 minutes. The High-Speed Ferry Ticket Counter accepts payment by either credit card or electronic money, such as IC cards like Suica or Pasmo. They open early and close late, so you should be able to get a ticket when you need one.

    MK Skygate Shuttle Counter

    The MK Skygate Shuttle is a large taxi service that lets you travel directly from the airport to your specific destination in Kyoto, Kobe, and Ashiya. One-way prices start at 2,500 yen per person for Kobe and Ashiya, and Kyoto locations will run you 4,200 yen. Vehicles can hold up to 9 passengers, and rides are normally shared. You’ll need to book the reservation at least 2 days in advance to guarantee a spot on the shuttle, but phone reservations may be able to be accepted last-minute.

    Limon Bus Tours Welcome Desk

    You can book a bus tour right from the airport, with destinations focusing on tourists spots all around Kansai like Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. These day trips make sightseeing easy, and some tours let you leave directly from the terminal, though there is an additional cost for the service.

    The Kyoto 1 Day Tour will hit the major sights in the traditional city, including Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-ji, Kiyomizu-dera, and Arashiyama. If you’re short on time but still want to see Kyoto, it’s highly recommended. Plus, for an extra 1,000 yen you can leave from KIX!

    2F: Domestic Departures and Arrivals Floor

    Mosdo in Renga Toro is a delicious collaboration between Mos Burger and Mister Donut, so you can enjoy two major Japanese chains in one convenient location.

    Area24 is geared towards travelers arriving late at night or early in the morning, providing 24-hour shops and a place to relax.

    The Pokémon Store is also on this floor. You can find official items from the wildly popular franchise, perfect for souvenirs or last-minute gifts for that Pokémon fanatic in your life. The KIX Pilot Pikachu and Flight Attendant Pikachu plushies are only available at this airport, so grab yours while you can!

    3F: Restaurants & Shops Floor

    The third floor has restaurants that mainly serve Japanese food, making it a great stopover if you’re looking for things like sushi or tonkatsu.

    Shopping is fairly extensive on this floor, too. You’ll find plenty of souvenir shops along with more low-key options like 100-yen shops for a responsible shopping spree.

    MUJI to GO is stocked with all of MUJI’s best travel items, including things like neck pillows, suitcases, and even snacks. It’s worth a look around to see if you find that perfect item for long flights or if one of their apparel items will help you deal with unexpected weather.

    Daiso is always a fun little walkthrough. One of Japan’s premier 100-yen shops, you’ll be surprised by what Daiso has in store. Snacks, toys, ties, umbrellas—the simple range of discount products is impressive. And all for a price that will have you reaching for your wallet.

    Other Helpful Services

    You can have your luggage delivered to and from the airport with a baggage delivery service, letting you travel light to your destination or take a stopover before you have to head to your lodging.
    The counters on the northern and southern ends of the first floor will deliver your luggage to your destination of choice.

    Baggage Storage
    You can leave carry-on bags and coats at the facilities on the north and south ends of floors 1 and 4. A suitcase is 620 yen per day, a Boston bag is 360 yen per day, and a coat is 1,030 yen for up to 4 days. Larger items like surfboards can be stored for 1,030 yen a day.

    Coin-operated Lockers

    There are both hourly and daily lockers available to rent.
    Daily lockers are 800 yen for large, 600 yen for medium, and 400 yen for small sizes.
    Hourly lockers are 300 yen for large, 200 yen for medium, and 100 yen for small sizes, charged in 3-hour increments.
    You can find them on the second floor at the north and south domestic departure gates, as well as on the third floor at the northern and southern ends.
