  • Kouri Island

    Kouri Island is located north of the main island of Okinawa, Yagaji Island. It is surrounded by emerald green seas, with a circumference of about eight kilometers. In 2005, the Kouri Bridge opened to connect the island with Yagaji Island, becoming a remote island that could now be reached by car from the main island. There are old houses and fields of sugar cane on the island, and the original Okinawan landscape remains remarkably unchanged. From ancient times, it has been given the names, “Love Island” and “God’s Island”, so there are also a lot of couples who visit this island.
  • Bise Fukugi Tree Road

    Bise Fukugi Tree Road is a tunnel of garcinia subelliptica trees surrounding a village which is divided like a grid. The trees were planted as a wind shield for the houses and have grown. The estimated age of the oldest tree is said to be 300 years old and the bright green color is dazzling. A ride on a water buffalo cart is also recommended.
  • Sesoko Island

    Sesoko Island is a remote island which can be reached from the main island of Okinawa by crossing the 762 meter long Sesoko Ohashi Bridge. The island has a circumference of approximately eight kilometers. As it can be easily accessed by car, it gets crowded with many tourists. “Sesoko Beach” which is located on the west side of the island is particularly popular. The contrast between the emerald green sea and the white sandy beach is wonderful. Also Sesoko Island is famous for its beautiful sunsets. It is a remote island where you can thoroughly enjoy spending a leisurely time.
  • Heart Rock

    "This rock is located in Teenu Beach in the north of Kouri Island. Kouri Island is a popular island known as ""Love Island"" because of there are legends similar to Adam and Eve and theories that its name is an accented way of saying ""love island."" Heart Rock appears to become one when the two rocks are seen from a certain direction, and it got its name since its shape resembles a heart. After it was used for shooting a television commercial, it quickly became a famous sightseeing spot. In addition, there are several parking lots in the vicinity."
  • Ie Island

    An island floating around nine kilometers northwest of the Motobu Peninsula. About a 30-minute ferry ride from Motobu Port. A white sand beach sprawls along the island's south side, while deep-blue ocean extends into the distance on its north. Here you can also find an abundance of local specialty products, including shima rakkyo (Okinawa shallots), jimami (peanuts), and Ie beef. The Ie Island Lily Festival is held in spring around the time some one million Easter lilies come into bloom.

    Tinu Beach is in the north of Kouri Island. On the calm beach where the sea spreads off into the distance, there is a so-called “heart-shaped stone,” which is popular as a place of matchmaking.
  • Yagaji Island

    Yagaji Island is located north of the main island of Okinawa, and it is an island floating on the Haneji inland sea. The area is about eight square kilometers. The east side of the main island of Okinawa is connected by the Yagaji Bridge, Ojima Island and the Haneji O Bridge, while the west of the main island of Okinawa is connected by the Warumi Bridge and Kouri Island is connected to Yagaji Island by the Kouri Bridge. In the tidal flatlands, migratory birds flying in and there are black mangroves (mangrove plants) which grow in excess of 10 meters in height. In 1976 during the Showa period, the entire island was designated as a national wildlife sanctuary.
  • Ie Village Mt. Gusuku

    Ie Village Mt. Gusuku is a 172 meter-high hill on Ie-jima (Ie Island). The hill has a unique shape; when viewed from the ocean, it was said to resemble an Eboshi (a cap used by men in Heian period), and since ancient times it was used as a landmark for navigation at sea. It is known colloquially as “Gusuku” or “Gusuku-yama.” From the summit, there are superb views of the entire island, and of the East China Sea.
  • Minna Island

    An island which looks like the shape of a croissant when seen from the air. Around a 15-minute ferry-ride from the main island of Okinawa. Encircled by white sands and cobalt-blue ocean, popular activities on this isolated island include snorkeling and other marine sports. There are also diving areas and walking destinations.
  • Nyatiya Sinus

    Nyatiya Sinus, located up to 10 minutes by car from Ie Island Port, is a natural grotto. It is said that a wish comes true if a woman who wants to be blessed with a child lifts a lifting stone (bijiruishi) so it is popular as a spiritual place. As it was used to accommodate many people as air-raid shelter during World War II, it is also known as the “one thousand people cave (gama)”.
