    A day trip hot spring bathhouse located in Tsunagi Town, Ashikita District, Kumamoto Prefecture. The bathhouse' vaunted scenic outdoor bath is reached via a ride on a retro monorail; built halfway up a cliff, bathers can enjoy a 270 degree panoramic view of downtown Tsunagi and the Yatsushiro Sea. The waters of the bathhouse' mildly alkaline simple spring are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, stiff shoulders, sensitivity to cold, and fatigue. These muddy, light brown waters are also used in the bathhouse' four family baths. People say you can soak in the outdoor bath all day without getting tired of it. Due to its high position, it is also famous as a sightseeing destination.

    "A hot spring hotel located about a 10-minute drive from Hitoyoshi Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway. Visitors enjoy the hot spring water flowing continuously from the source. The spring is also known as ""Bijin-no-yu"" and ""Kodakara-no-yu."" The sodium chloride hydrogen carbonate water leaves the skin feeling soft and slippery to the touch. It's a well-known hot spring, used widely by locals and those from further away, both within and outside the prefecture. Its Japanese restaurant overlooks the spring water pond, selected as one of the 100 Best Springs in Kumamoto Prefecture. The eatery is a good place to try Hitoyoshi Kuma's local cuisine, including sweetfish, yamame trout, and carp. It's equipped with a spacious indoor bath, an outdoor bath, a sauna, and a family bath. The wooden facility has a warm and cozy ambiance. The outdoor bath in a grove of trees has a sense of freedom that makes you feel at one with nature. Fare ranging from meal sets to wild game is available at the on-site restaurant.

    御立岬海水浴場で海水浴をした後に利用いました。海水浴場から車で2、3分の場所にあるんで便利なのですが濡れたまま車に乗り、移動して温泉は少し面倒でした。隣接していると便利かと思います。温泉は少し塩気を感じました。

    人吉の紺屋町にある公衆浴場。青いトタン屋根に古い木造の建物。昭和6年からやっているそうです。入口を入ると、銭湯のように番台があります。脱衣場が広々していて、レトロ感にあふれています。浴槽は小さいですが、茶褐色の温泉がかけ流しされていて、熱めのとてもいい温泉です。

    湯前駅から九州産交のバスで一人旅。バスも、温泉も平日だったためか貸し切りでした。温泉は確かに広くはありませんが、綺麗です。ただ、温度が少々低すぎではないかと、、、。なので長湯できました。
