    Fukuoka Pref. Fukuokashinishiku Noko island
Located in the middle of Hakata Bay, Nokonoshima is an island that can be reached in about 10 minutes by ferry from Fukuoka City Meinohama’s Noko ferry landing. It is a picturesque island where visitors are able to enjoy flowers from all four seasons, and is full of fascinating historical structures such as the “Sota Kofun-gun” tombs built around the seventh century, and the “Shishigaki” which is a relic of the Edo period deer-hunting grounds. The island’s circumference is approximately 12 kilometers. Nokoshima Island Park is great for cycling, offering beautiful views of the ocean as well as various flowers blooming in profusion such as rapeseed, sunflowers, cosmos and daffodils.
