    Okayama Okayama-shi Kita-ku Ashimori 979
This complex serves as a general tourist information office offering information on sightseeing spots around Okayama prefecture, including Kibiji. Located on the south side of the Ashimori Preservation District, with its historical city scape, it blends in with the surrounding building's tiled roofs and latticed windows. In addition to the tourist information office, the facility also offers pottery activities. This spot is particularly nice for children, as they hand-work easy-to-shape clay. The attached Komegura Gallery holds exhibitions and mini-concerts, as well, and the Koan tearoom is perfect for a rest to throw off your travel exhaustion as you enjoy treats made with local ingredients.

Okayama Areas

around-area-map

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
