    Shoindo is a pottery shop in Kyoto's Higashiyama Ward. In business since 1855, it specializes in Japanese-style tableware and sells the varieties known as Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. It is still in its original building, which gives it a special atmosphere. Customers can buy tea cups, bowls, teapots, and many other kinds of useful pottery as either souvenirs for themselves or as gifts.
