Oshinari-kun no Ie

Tourism Information Office
"This tourist information center and rest area is located in front of Tokyo Skytree about a three-minute walk from Oshiage Station. ""Oshinari-kun"" was designed to greet visitors, guide sightseeing in Sumida Ward and energize the local area by using the building which was vacant at the time. Oshinari-kun is a local character which was named from ""Oshi"" and ""Nari"" from the Oshiage and Narihirabashi areas. Its motif is Ariwara no Narihira, a waka poet of the Heian period, whose name became the origin of the name of Narihira Bridge, and it is characterized by his wearing an eboshi cap (a type of headgear worn by court nobles) with the Tokyo Skytree design. Original Oshinari-kun goods such as hand towels and cellphone straps are available for sale."
