Himi Seaside Botanical Garden

This botanical garden located at Matsudae no Nagahama is a 15-minute walk from JR Himi Line Shimao Station. It raises some 300 varieties of plant, including beach plant?s from all across Japan. In their greenhouse, visitors can view tropical plants such as palm trees and hibiscus, as well as the sago palm, often called a living fossil. Visitors can also enjoy viewing the plants while taking a relaxing walk on the beach promenade. The glass-walled scenic restaurant on the fourth floor is famous for its delicious Italian cuisine and its great views of Toyama Bay. It is a popular spot for families.

This is a nice little garden respite, but it is very tiny. Hopefully given time it will expand further on the gardens they currently have

県外からの訪問者だが、海浜植物園ということでわざわざ訪れた。第一印象はどこに植物園と名のるほどの植物があるの・・？？？特に海浜植物園と名のっているが、園内には海浜植物と思われるものはほとんどなく目につくのは亜熱帯の植物ばかり。狭い園内を巡ると、ここは植物園ではなく子供の遊戯施設でしかないところだった。私のように名前にだまされて訪れる人間もこれからもいるかもしれないが、植物愛好家や趣味者が訪...

景色が良い植物園です。晴れた日はとても眺望が良いので、ぜひお勧めです。あまり混んでないところもポイントです。
