盛岡八幡宮由南部氏第29代當家──南部重信於1680年興建。作為農業、工業、商業、學問、衣食住等人類生活根源之神，自古以來就受到當地民眾的崇拜。全年舉辦彩車活動、流鏑馬（騎馬射箭）祭神儀式等各種祭典，聲名遠播。

Walk about 20 minutes from the castle park to find this imposing shrine on a small hill. “Fishing” for a fortune was amusing (I won’t spoil it). Excellent modern restroom a surprise.

We had the privilege of having a tea ceremony and dressing up in yukatas while visiting the shrine. It is a very spiritual and beautiful place and the ceremony and wearing of the costume was fabulous ...
