幾乎與京都齊名的奈良，是尋找「傳統日本」遺澤的必遊之地。泰半布滿綠意的奈良市擁有奈良縣的大部分寶藏，例如代表性的東大寺，其中有一尊15公尺高的大佛端坐；以及群鹿聚集親近過路客的奈良公園。雖然在這個區域很容易走訪山區，不過如果想要來1趟收穫豐滿的徒步旅行，可以在春天前往紀伊山地的吉野地區，在那裡的山坡上可以看見華美壯觀的白色和粉紅色櫻花。
