The Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Natural History in Funoo, Kainan City, has two exhibition spaces. The first is an aquarium and the second is dedicated to animals and plants, geology, fossils and diorama exhibits. 即位礼正殿の儀の慶祝行事として、入館料が無料となっていました。全滅となったと報道されていた大水槽も復旧していました。早く、以前のように、多く、大きな魚が、泳ぎ回る姿を見たいものです。

自然博物館という名ですが水族館です。入り口を入って行くと大きなガラスばりの水槽に出会います。ゆったりと大きなアジやエイ、これといって珍しいものはない普通のさかなが泳いでいます。個人的にこの場所が一番好きでお勧めです。あまり混雑もせず、小さい子供達でも水槽ガラスまじかに観れていいと思います。昆虫や和歌山に生息する動物の剥製も展示してるのでいろいろと学習できると思います。駐車場は博物館より道をはさん...

小さいながらも水族館くらいの価値はあります。亀やカエルなど身近な生き物からはじまって、大きい水槽を泳ぐ魚たちに癒されます。タッチングプールがあったのも良かったです。ゆっくり見て回れるし、とくにお子様連れにはオススメです。
