Observation Tower
A scenic overlook and astronomical observatory located on the eastern edge of Oita City in Saganoseki. The astronomical observatory is outfitted with a 60-centimeter reflecting telescope and here visitors can observe seasonal astronomical phenomena, as well as the sun and bright stars during the day, and a glittering night sky in the evening. The scenic overlook commands a sweeping view of the Hoyo Strait; there's also a museum area with space-themed exhibits such as meteorites gathered at the south pole, and exhibits on the nearby ocean; a shop; and a restaurant.
