This restaurant adjoins the Sunshine business hotel, notable for its up-close view of the vast natural beauty of the Arida River and Mt. Myojin. The restaurant is just a five-minute drive from JR Kii-Miyahara Station on the opposite side of the river. The restaurant’s name means “Ayu Tea House,” and as this implies, the establishment takes pride in its ayu cuisine and other dishes made with fish varieties like largehead hairtail (caught in larger quantities here than anywhere else in Japan), and wild longtooth grouper caught in the Kii Channel. Particularly notable is the restaurant’s largehead hairtail rice bowls and oju lacquered boxes, original recipe dishes only a few servings of which are offered each day. Other menu selections, like the wild longtooth grouper hot pot set and kaiseki course cuisine, give diners the chance to fully savor the flavors of the Kii Channel.

となりにビジネスホテルサンシャインに宿泊して夕食、お風呂を利用。とても人気らしく平日17時過ぎで駐車場は一杯。浴室内は年配者、子供連れで混んでいる。洗い場、内風呂、露天風呂も広い。食事処は2階の個室でとても美味しい。
クエが美味しい

秋の時期に、クエを食べることができます。クエ懐石とクエ鍋のプランがあります。クエは鍋にするのが一番で、あっさり感の中に、皮に近い部分が濃厚な味わいのあるクエがとても美味しいですか。
脱衣所に喫煙ルームはいらない

せっかく気持ちよく温泉を楽しんだのに、脱衣所で着替えて髪を乾かそうとしたらタバコの臭い・・・すぐそばに喫煙ルームがありました。誰もが利用せざるを得ないところに作る必要があるのでしょうか？地元の人の利用も多いようなので仕方ないのかもしれませんが嫌煙者も多いのに、どうなんだろうと思ってしまいました。
