Ichishima Sake Brewery Inc.
This venerable sake brewery is located nearby Isoshirei-jinja Shrine in Shibata City. Visitors can tour the brewery without a reservation. The brewery has a collection of many artifacts that tell the story of their 200 years in the sake-making business. It exhibits a variety of vintage brewing equipment and containers, including a large steaming pot, yeast barrels, brewing pot, tubs for straining sake, tokkuri (sake serving bottles), iwaidaru (celebratory kegs), and more. The brewery's onsite sake shop, Muso, always has seven to eight different products available for free tastings or for purchase, such as their popular daiginjo (top-quality sake made with heavily-milled rice) and their refreshing umeshu (plum wine) made with sake.
