Matsuba Souhonten, located in Shin Umeda Food Arcade near Umeda Station in Osaka, is a well-established specialty kushikatsu (a grilled skewer) restaurant, which opened in 1949. The standing bar-style surrounding a counter is often featured on TV and magazines. It is crowded with neighboring office workers daily and also popular with both families and tourists. Each kushikatsu carefully made by an experienced artisan is a taste of Osaka with a crispy texture. The grilled beef skewer is famous and more than 10 types of kushikatsu including vegetables, meat and seafood can be enjoyed.

大阪旅行で利用しました。梅田駅から歩いてすぐのところにある新梅田食堂街の中にある串カツ屋さんです。外観を見た感じ何か惹かれるものを感じて流れるように入店。土曜日の夕方頃に利用しましたが店内はかなり混雑していました。立ち飲みスタイルのお店で、そこそこ多いお客さんが入る広さのお店です。また、入店してから気付きましたが店内での喫煙が可能なので、タバコの臭いが苦手な方は利用するのは厳しい...

土曜日の開店10分前に到着、既に5人待ち。中瓶2本と牛肉・海老・きす・若鶏・青唐・じゃが芋・ウインナーを。休日昼下りの揚げたて串カツでの立ち呑み、大変美味しゅうございました。
