Kyu-Abuso Shoten
This historic structure is on the Onogawa River in Sawara. It was a wholesaler and Nara style pickle maker that moved to its current location in the Edo period (1603?1868). The shop was destroyed by a big fire in 1900 and rebuilt. Both it and the 1798 earth-walled storehouse are Prefectural Tangible Cultural Properties. The surrounding area as a whole is designated an Important National Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
