Miko no Sato
This farm-direct shop is on national route 415, which connects Hakui city with Toyama prefecture. They sell fresh produce and wild edible plants all harvested in the Noto area, all against the backdrop of Noto's satoyama scenery of wild mountains and farmland. This farming village stands on a steep slope in the Mikohara district of eastern Hakui city. They have the prefecture's largest area of terraced rice fields, and the elevation's huge daily temperature differential creates excellent growing conditions. Mikohara rice, selected as one of the three most delicious varieties of rice in Japan, is famous for being sent as an offering to the Pope.
