"This is a temple of the Soto sect of Buddhism, revering ""Shaka-nyorai"" as the main idol of worship, located in Nagato city, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and founded in 1410. It was proud of its prosperity which was said to have been the Western Koya (a famous Buddhist sacred place). It was also known as the place of the fall of the Ouchi clan which lead Yamaguchi to great wealth during the Muromachi period (1336–1573). The main hall is designated as an important cultural property of Yamaguchi Prefecture, and it is well known as a spot to view cherry blossom in spring and autumn leaves in the autumn."

2021年11月29日に下関市の覚苑寺の次に向かった先は約1時間強の長門市にある「大寧寺」でした。山をいくつも超えて行くイメージで到着した場所は、広大な敷居を擁する閑静な場所にありました。ここでも旬の色彩では無いにしろ、色とりどりの見頃の紅葉が楽しめましたが、銀杏の落葉が顕著で落葉した時期も結構時間が経過してる雰囲気だったので、黄色の葉が色褪せていたのは少し残念ではありましたね。大寧寺の境内は観る...
